The SAG mill gridning media or grinding ball, of filling rate in the SAG mill is generally 8%~12%. But, when the big block ore as the grinding media is not enough, filling rate of grinding media is increased up to 20%.

As the new installed SAG mill, the first load of gridning media is like as 80mm, 100mm and 125mm, according to the feeding size and discharged size and capacity, the size of grinding ball could be adjusted.  During the operation, just need to adding the big size grinding balls, such as 125mm.

5) Lab test for the finished balls by hardness test from surface to core, impact test, and moreover we will have a balls dropping test with a lifting height 6 meters, this can simulate the balls crushing and impact situation in the SAG Mill machine with its diameter not over 10 meters. It will be allowed to make the balls with the setted production chart after the balls pass the dropping test without spalling in two halfs or spalling piece will be more than 30% according to the testing standard;
