Flotation Machine Impellers – Corrosion-Resistant and Damage-Resistant Polyurethane Stator and Rotor

Impellers

Impellers

Flotation machines are one of the most important pieces of equipment in the mineral processing process. ZJH Minerals produces rotors and stators with advanced design, reasonable mold design, stable chemical properties, impact resistance, tear resistance, light weight, and convenient and quick loading, unloading, maintenance, and replacement. Dynamic balance testing improves operational stability and reduces off-center load. The rotors and stators are available in three different materials: high-quality rubber, polyurethane, and high-molecular nylon, with excellent quality that is among the best in the world.

Polyurethane or high-quality rubber impellers for flotation machines are the core components of mineral flotation equipment. Specific information is as follows:

Product Description

  • Material: Made of polyurethane elastomer (combining the high elasticity of rubber and the high strength of plastic), with a wear-resistant matte finish. The structure features a multi-layered backward-inclined conical blade design + central air distributor. The blade gaps and flow channels are reasonably designed, adapting to the U-shaped tank structure of the KYF type flotation machine.Rubber flotation impellers are core and easily damaged components of flotation equipment. They are made of natural rubber or nitrile rubber as the main raw materials and are formed by compression molding and vulcanization. The overall shape is a streamlined blade structure with the blade curvature conforming to the flow trajectory of the slurry. The hub and blades are integrated into one design, which has good elasticity and wear resistance. They can be directly assembled onto the main shaft of the flotation machine to stir the slurry, disperse air, and form a stable mineralized foam layer.
  • Function: Achieves slurry mixing, circulation, and air dispersion through rotation—the slurry is drawn in from the bottom of the impeller, mixes with low-pressure air introduced by the air distributor between the blades, and forms uniform mineralized bubbles after being stabilized by the stator, completing mineral separation.

Core Advantages

High-quality rubber

1. High Wear and Impact Resistance: The rubber elastomer buffers the impact and friction of hard particles in the slurry, resulting in a significantly lower wear rate than metal impellers, extending service life by 3-5 times and greatly reducing replacement frequency.

2. Corrosion and Scaling Resistance: Resistant to acids, alkalis, and chemical corrosion from slurries, it is suitable for complex mineralization environments. Its smooth surface prevents scaling, maintaining stable mixing efficiency over a long period.

3. Low Operating Noise: The vibration-damping properties of the rubber material reduce collision noise between the impeller and the slurry and equipment cavity during high-speed rotation, improving the working environment in the mineral processing workshop.

4. Protective Components: The elastic material prevents rigid contact with metal components such as the stator during operation, reducing wear on the main shaft, bearings, and other transmission systems.

5. Lightweight Design: Lighter than metal impellers, it reduces the load on the main shaft and lowers equipment energy consumption.

Polyurethane

  1. Ultra-wear-resistant + Long lifespan:The wear resistance of polyurethane material is 3-5 times that of rubber and more than 10 times that of ordinary steel components. In mining environments, its service life can reach 3 years, significantly reducing replacement frequency and maintenance costs.
  2. Low power consumption and high efficiency: The backward-inclined blade design reduces power consumption by 30%-50%. The air distributor ensures more uniform air-slurry mixing, resulting in better mineral particle suspension and improving flotation recovery rate by 0.2-0.4 percentage points.
  3. Corrosion and damage resistant: Resistant to hydrolysis, acids, alkalis, and flotation reagent corrosion, it can adapt to highly abrasive slurry environments; the elastic material buffers impacts and reduces equipment vibration.
  4. Stable Operation: The blade clearance and flow channel design are optimized for uniform wear, resulting in a stable slurry surface without “flocculation” and minimal tailings deposition.

Applications

Primarily used in flotation processes for metallic and non-metallic minerals, including:

  • Non-ferrous metal ores:Beneficiation operations in copper, lead, zinc, gold, titanium, and other mines;
  • Other fields:Sorting of some chemical raw materials, tailings recovery, and can also be integrated with large-scale flotation units.
