Grate Ball Mill
Applications
Metal ores: Mainly used for coarse and primary grinding of iron ore, copper ore, gold ore and other metal ores.
Non-metallic ores: Also applicable to some non-metallic ores such as phosphate ore and limestone.
A grate plate is installed at the discharge end.After materials enter the cylinder and rotate with the steel balls, they are discharged through the grate holes.Larger particles are blocked by the grate plate, and only smaller particles can pass through the grate holes to be discharged.
It is equipped with an internal screw, which pushes materials into the ball mill.There are 12 fan-shaped plates with slits at the discharge end, and materials can flow out through the slits.The quantity varies with different ball mill models; each plate is provided with slits.

The cylinder liner is wave-shaped, which helps to lift the steel balls to a certain height and then drop them, so as to grind materials.
In the middle, there is a forced conical discharger with taper.After passing through the slits of the fan-shaped plates, materials are pushed to the discharge port by the internal ribs of the mill head, the taper structure of the discharger, and the screw at the discharge port.

Applications
Fine grinding: Widely used in ore treatment requiring fine grinding, such as precious metal ores like gold ore and silver ore.
Re-grinding: Used in re-grinding process in closed-circuit grinding systems of mineral processing plants to improve concentrate grade.
After materials enter the cylinder and rotate together with steel balls, when the materials in the cylinder reach a certain height, they are naturally discharged through the discharge port to form a continuous material flow.
The discharge end is a solid plate structure. Finely ground materials float with water and flow out through the discharge port with water.

Advantages
Strong fine grinding capacity: Slow discharge speed leads to long retention time of slurry in the mill, suitable for fine grinding and ultra-fine grinding.Simple structure: No grate plate, relatively simple structure and convenient maintenance.Uniform grinding: Long retention time of slurry in the mill makes the grinding process more uniform, helping to improve the quality of fine grinding products.

Features
Discharged by natural overflow, long grinding time, fine grinding effect, suitable for fine grinding (such as process before flotation), but with small processing capacity and easy to over-grind.Suitable for mineral processing operations requiring fineness and simple process; not suitable for brittle ores.
