Lab Overflow Continuous Rod Mill

  XMBL-Φ420×600 Overflow-type continuous rod mill can be used to continuously grind ores or study and test the grindability indexes of ores. It can also be used in ore dressing plants as ore grinding equipment or used in other industrial sectors to mill materials.

  1. Description

This machine is closed-circuit grinding machine integrating of feeder, rod mill, spiral classifier, screw conveyor, and other single machines. It can be used to continuously grind ores or study and test the grindability indexes of ores. It can also be used in ore dressing plants as ore grinding equipment or used in other industrial sectors to mill materials.

  1. Main Structure

This machine mainly consists of five parts i.e. feeding part, grinding part, discharging part, classifying part, and conveying part.

2.1 Feeding Part

The feeding part is composed of a cylindric feeder of ore storage bin type and a snail feeding device. The feeding method is: After the gate of the ore storage bin is opened, materials in the ore storage bin are fed continuously and evenly into the shell of the snail feeding device through the rotation of drum; then they are fed into the milling drum by the snail feeding device together with the water. The feeding quantity is controlled through adjusting the size of the opening of the gate plate and rotating speed of the drum. The drum is driven at two speeds through the belt by the belt cone on the shaft of screw conveyor. The snail feeding device is a scoop in the shape of planar spiral which is used to convey raw ores and return sand from the classifier directly to the inside of drum.

2.2 Grinding Part

The grinding part is a Φ420×600 grinding drum. Its inner wall is lined with six corrugated manganese steel liners and its outer wall has two wheel rims. The wheel rims are supported on two pairs of rollers. At one end of the drum is snail feeding device and at the other end of the drum is overflow discharging mouth. The function of transmission is served by the rubbing of roller and wheel rims when the motor gets one pair of drive roller to rotate through the V-belt and secondary gear reducer.

2.3 Discharging Part

The grinding products automatically overflow when passing the cover at the discharging end. They automatically flow into the classifier through the tilting discharging chute. A hose coupler is welded on the top of the chute which are connected with rubber pipes and feed pipes. On the feed pipes are taps which are used to turn on and turn off water as well as adjust the water flow. A retaining cap is inserted to the outside of the chute to avoid the slurry at the discharging mouth from splashing out.

2.4 Classifying Part

The classifying part is a Φ150×1400 screw conveyor. It takes the inlet of discharging chute as the fulcrum of its one end around which the whole classifier revolves for a certain angle to meet the requirement of different gradients. Its other end is supported with a screw. The gradient of the classifier can be adjusted when the hand wheel of sleeve nut on it is turned, so as to control the amount of return sand and fineness of effusion.

2.5 Conveying Part

The conveying part is a Φ90×420 screw conveyer. The conveying process is: The classifier and snail feeding device is linked; the return sand from the classifier is fed continuously and evenly to the shell of the snail feeding device, and the snail feeding device then conveys it and the raw ores from the feeder into the grinding drum, so that the classifier and mill form a closed-circuit grinding system and continuous grinding can be realized.

All the parts listed above and the drive system, water supply system, and electric equipment shall be installed on the frame to be shipped in complete set. During installation, it is not necessary to add new foundations. When it is placed in the workshop, adjust the supporting plane slightly, remove oil staining on the package, examine the lubricating condition, connect it to water and power source, as well as determine the operating direction of mill through test run. When all relevant requirements are conformed to, the equipment can be operated according to procedures.
