  1. Description

XMB (Q) –Φ600×1200 Rod (Ball) mill is a kind of wet overflow mill which is used to crush materials in mines as well as geology, coal, building materials, and hydropower sectors, especially to crush materials in small mobile mines.

This kind of equipment features compact structure and good overall performance. It can work normally when placed on flat and solid ground. It is light in weight, thus easy for transportation and installation. This can better demonstrate its superiority when used in small concentration plants, especially the small mobile concentration plants.

  1. Main Structure

This kind of equipment is mainly composed of six parts: Motor, speed reducer, feeding part, cylinder, (cover-type) discharging part, and frame.

2.1. The transmission part consists of motor, speed reducer, etc. The whole transmission is central transmission and is arranged in a line.

2.2. Feeding Part: Materials are fed from a hopper which slide into the tapered pipe at the feed end through the feed pipe below the hopper and then go into the cylinder, to form central feeding.

2.3. Cylinder: The cylinder is coiled and welded by steel plate. The inside of the cylinder is equipped with manganese steel liner which is mainly used to lift the steel ball (rod) to an appropriate height to improve crushing efficiency and protect the cylinder. Through the gyration in the cylinder, the grinding medium is lifted to a certain height under the action of centrifugal force and friction and then falls in parabola, to impact and grind the materials.

Manholes are drilled in the cylinder, for the convenience of replacing grinding media and liner plate as well as repairing internal parts. The whole cylinder is supported on the two spherical bearings on the frame to play the role of automatic self aligning, to be adapted to compensation and adjust the allowable error during fabrication and installation. It is connected to the speed reducer through the gears.

2.4. Discharging Part: The discharging method of the discharging parts is overflow peripheral discharge. Overflow peripheral discharge refers to the discharging method in which the grinding products automatically overflow at the discharging end from the overflow vent; there are Ф50 circular holes surrounding the discharging end from which slurry is discharged, goes into the aggregate cover and is discharged out of the equipment.

2.5. Frame
The frame is integrally welded by channel steel which features high strength, superior rigidity and good stability. Above it are two spherical bearing systems, which are composed of bearing pedestal, bearing cap, bearing bush, and drip-feed type lubricating cup. The lubricating cup is filled with lubricating oil to lubricate the journal and bearing bush.

4. Installation, Application, Maintenance
A. Installation
For easier use, first lay a good concrete foundation and embed foundation bolts and the complete machine can be hoisted on it.
B. Application
1. Feeding Grinding Medium: Dismantle the feed hopper and the grinding medium can be fed in from the feed opening.
2. Starting the Machine: Before staring the machine, first examine if all parts are reliable and strong. Then rotate the belt pulley of motor for commission to get the cylinder of the machine to turn 2-3 rounds. If there is no abnormality, start the machine and observe if it runs normally.
3. Stopping the Machine: Before stopping the machine, first stop feeding materials. Flush it with clear water after the minerals in the cylinder are almost discharged, to make the inside of the machine clean. Finally, open the orifice in the cylinder to release all the water.
4. Precautions for Use
①. Feed the minerals to be grinded continuously into the hopper, to ensure stable feed quantity.
②. Observe the grinding products and overflow sizes on a regular basis. If there is any abnormality, make timely adjustment.
③ Frequently observe each part of the machine and the operating conditions of the motor; examine if there is adequate lubricating oil in each part, if the seal is complete, and if the temperature rise is normal.
C. Maintenance
1. Lubrication: Lubricate the machine with No. HJ-50 machine oil in summer and lubricate it with No. HJ-40 machine oil in winter
2. Maintenance
① The drip-feed type lubricating cups on the two bearings of the machine shall be oiled according to actual conditions, usually once every shift.
② The speed reducer shall be oiled once during every minor overhaul (performed about once every 1-3 months) according to instructions.
③ The grinding medium shall be taken out if the machine has not been used for grinding for a long time. The slurry in the cylindered shall be removed thoroughly.
④ To ensure safe use of the mill, major overhaul, intermediate overhaul and minor overhaul shall be performed duly according to the operating conditions of the machine and relevant standards.
Cycle of minor overhaul: About 1-3 months
Cycle of intermediate overhaul: About 6-12 months
Cycle of major overhaul: About 5a
