Operating Condition Analysis

Tire-type ball mill for gold tailings grinding

Customer Case Study: Gold Tailings Grinding Project

Raw Material: Gold tailings

Feed Size: 2 mm

Processing Capacity: 8 tons per hour (t/h)

Discharge Size (Cyclone Overflow): 80% passing 75 μm (< 75 μm)

Recommended Solution

Based on the above operating conditions, we recommend the following process flow:

Tire-Type Ball Mill + Hydrocyclone + Slurry Pump in a closed-circuit grinding system.

Process Flow Description: Tailings enter the tire-type ball mill from the feed end, are ground by steel balls, and discharged as slurry. The slurry is pumped to the hydrocyclone for classification by the slurry pump. The qualified fine particles exit through the cyclone overflow to the next process stage, while the coarse particles (underflow) return to the ball mill for regrinding, forming a closed-circuit loop to ensure product fineness meets the target.

Advantages of Tire-Type Ball Mill

Energy Saving & High Efficiency: Large rolling bearings replace traditional sliding bearings, resulting in low starting torque and 15%-30% reduction in operating energy consumption.

Controllable Discharge Size: Combined with hydrocyclone in closed-circuit operation, product fineness is stable and controllable, meeting regrinding requirements.

Easy Maintenance: Tire-type coupling ensures smooth transmission, reduces impact vibration, extends equipment life, and lowers maintenance frequency.

Long Liner Life: High manganese steel or rubber liners can be selected based on ore properties, offering excellent wear resistance and long replacement intervals.

Strong Adaptability: Excellent adaptability to feed size fluctuations, suitable for regrinding complex materials such as tailings.

Flexible Installation: Compact overall structure, compatible with steel frame foundations, shortening construction cycles.
